EXPERIENTIAL SEMINAR

The Association of Greek Letters and Arts for Welfare and Excellence, within the framework of its actions aimed at promoting self-improvement and self-knowledge of human in accordance with the ancient Greek standards of “Know Thyself,” is organizing an Experiential Seminar at the Cultural Conference Centre of Heraklion, in the “Experimental Theater” Hall on Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 11:00 to 15:00:

«Philosophical Psychology and Management
of self and others»

The Seminar is organized in Collaboration with the Philosophical Counseling Awareness Laboratory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Since ancient times, Philosophy has been taught as a means of relieving and healing people from their mental afflictions. Socrates encouraged the examination of life, and philosophy became a way of life rather than an academic subject.

This old approach, renewed by the knowledge that modern philosophical currents and Psychology have to offer to human, can make human capable, on the one hand, to effectively cope with the challenges of life and, on the other hand, to constantly discover the optimal versions of himself.

The scientific character of philosophy, in a dialectical relationship with psychology, liberates us from subjective tendencies and patterns, opens to us windows to “Know Thyself”, as a means to review our lives, to whatever we consider best. Thus, we are in the prospect of intellectual and moral integration that will put us in the prospect of harmonious and productive communication with ourselves and others.

The Works of the Experiential Seminar are divided into two parts.

First Part: “I examine” and “Ι cogitate”:

  • What is my nature. Who I am.
  • What defines me as a personality. My thoughts. My feelings.
  • What defines me as a person. My relationships. My choices.
  • Superego. Connection of mind and emotion.
  • My anxiety as a derivative of fear and care for everyday life.
  • Know Thyself. A Concise approach.
